These wonderful children have continued their learning at home and have enthusiastically shared what they have learned about space with the class! It has been lovely to see so many of you enjoying our topic so much that you want to challenge yourselves and find out more. Well done!

Each week, Mrs Hayes and Miss Gunter come in to cook with us! This week, we made and ate Tuna Pasta Bake! It was delicious!! We have been learning a lot about the History of Space Travel between 1940 - 1970. We created freeze frames to represent some of the key events during this time period. Can you guess what each of our freeze frames represent? What significant events are missing? We have started to create planets using papier-mâché. Before we began, we used fruits to consider the scale we would need for the planets. We are waiting for them to dry before we paint them.
This afternoon we had a visit from author Jenny McLachlan. The children were inspired about reading and writing and enjoyed time creating their own characters and settings in the style of Jenny McLachlan's book The Land of Roar. Some children were keen to buy their own signed copy of The Land of Roar and had the chance to meet Jenny McLachlan.

A big thank you to the organisers of this weeks science event at Frenchay. the children thoroughly enjoyed the day. Have a look at some of the photographs. Today we used vinegar and baking soda to create an acid base reaction. The two chemicals mixed together, created carbon dioxide which caused our balloons to inflate. We had lots of fun, even if the classroom is a bit smelly now |
