Here are some pictures of the brilliant space projects and posters children have been making at home! I love how different they are and how much effort the children have put into these! If you have finished yours please do send some pictures in an email to the office and I can add your picture on too.

Hi everyone! Here are your home learning tasks for this week. Spellings The spelling rule this week is: ‘Homophones & near homophones’ For your spellings this week please write them out in your book at least 3 times each. What is a homophone? If you’re not sure look it up! Please also write them in sentences to show your understanding of these homophones. We will be doing our spelling test on a Monday morning. Reading All children are expected to read every night. This can be to themselves or to an adult. I would like everyone to complete at least 1 reading journal task this week. It will be their choice which task they complete. Remember, reading journals and books are expected to come to and from school EVERY day! Times Tables This week, in your homework book please practice a range of spellings that you find challenging. If you know you find your 8’s difficult write out those. I don’t mind how you do this. Try and find a good way of remembering them for you. Topic Lots of parents have emailed the school office pictures of their topic homework which I have loved seeing! These then get forwarded to me. We are trying to find a way for parents to contact us. If you’re able to send a photo that would be brilliant. I would like to put some of these pictures on the blog so please send some through if you get a chance! If you have not finished your project yet, please carry on with it. J

Times Tables This week, I would like all children to complete at least 3 games on whichever room they would like. Topic I would like you to do some research on one of the planets in our solar system. I am going to give you the next 3 weeks to complete a poster all about your planet. This can be online or on paper. It would be brilliant if colour could be added to make it look brilliant! As teachers, we are trying to find a way to view work that you are doing at home. We will let you know if we find a way to do this so I can see some pictures.
As it was raining we had to stay in for P.E today. The children loved doing yoga and stretching out all of their muscles! Lots of them commented on how it made them feel relaxed and asked if we could do it again. :) Hi everyone! Here are 100 top reads for Year 5 children! This may be useful when choosing a book to read both at home and in school.
