Today we used vinegar and baking soda to create an acid base reaction. The two chemicals mixed together, created carbon dioxide which caused our balloons to inflate. We had lots of fun, even if the classroom is a bit smelly now A very big thank you to Andy and Hugh from the Merchant Navy. They were very interesting and taught us facts like; Bristol was a very important place in W.W.2 because of its port and docks. When the bombs dropped they would not fall exactly where the enemy wanted as they were not accurate and so bombed innocent civilians. You would have to make your jam, like other foods, last two months because of shortages . Written on behalf of Kingfisher Class by Nyla, Lacey and Archie H We had a visit from Cosmic the Scientist who talked to us about chemical reactions. He introduced us to Universal Indicator, we made slime and even caused an eruption! Ask us all about acids and alkalies. |
