CHILDREN'S UNIVERSITY
|
The Children's University is an exciting project that is being run by the University of West of England, which allows children to continue their learning journeys at home and work towards getting a Children's University Learning Degree. The aim is that children attend different learning destinations across Bristol, the rest of the UK and some parts of Europe. Whilst at these Learning Destinations they complete different activities which contribute towards learning hours. Once they have enough learning hours they are invited to a graduation at Bristol Cathedral where they receive their award from the Principal of the University. These hours are then banked and they start working towards their next degree. Some of the activities the children compete after school can be accredited such as cooking club, ICT club and many of the sports clubs.
Learning Destinations: More destinations are being added all of the time. At the moment all of the Museums, the SS Great Britain, and Bristol Libraries are all accredited. Bristol Zoo and the aquarium will be coming on board shortly along with many other exciting destinations.
