Welcome back to The Robin Class everyone. It is going to be a busy and fun year ahead. please keep checking the website and facebook for updates on all the amazing things The Robin Class will do this year.
The children are getting excited about health week and the upcoming sports day.
The children have been superstars this week with their first taste of examinations. They should be very proud of their efforts. We have also been reading father's day poems and making cards to share on Sunday. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
What a week we have had in Robin Class. The children have learnt about the country of Spain and in particular the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. The children have recreated various forms of his art with crayon, paint, pastel and ipads. We are almost finished our tapas dishes which will be sent home after the holiday. We hope you have a lovely break and welcome some Spanish weather to go alongside our topic!
Robin Class parents,
This week I have sent home a username and password individual to your child for the maths resource Sumdog. This is a really fun way to work on maths at home through the computer, tablet or internet enabled device. Just google sumdog and use the login and password your child has. The children have had a chance to investigate it at school and find it a really fun way to work on maths skills.
Robin Class would like to thank Charles and his dad for bringing in their baby rabbits or kittens and we now know they are called. The children (and staff) really enjoyed learning about the kittens and how to care for animals.
We have had more visitors this week in the form of the Rhyme Rockets. The children were in awe of the characters from television and hung on every word they said. We would like to thank the PTA for providing this show for the infant children.
We had to make the most of all this wonderful weather so, we headed outside and split into team. We are still learning how to be part of a team particularly in PE. Our mission was for all members of the team to make it across the field without touching the grass. After some thinking time the children worked together brilliantly to get everyone across safely. As a whole class we made it safely back to school without touching floor as well!
The children have recently started using a free app to support them with their preparation for the phonics screening tests at the start of next term. It is made by a company called Poppin and can be downloaded for free from the app store. It is called 'Phonics Test' and would be a really simple way of supporting your children at home. I hope this is useful. Mr Inskip
We were incredibly proud of Robin Class as they hosted a tea party for our school volunteers. They carefully baked vegetable tarts and lemon cakes for the occasion and learnt a new poem to convey our gratitude to the people who give so much to our school.
