Our last day and it's been a fun one. We started our morning by having a race on the assault course between the Badgers and Otters. The Badgers completed the course in just under 8 minutes and the Otters completed it in 9 minutes. It was amazing to see all of the teamwork and encouragement the children gave not only to their team but the other team. Everyone is a winner! We also completed the colony games together, the Badgers and Otters had to build a shelter and a fire to have their hot chocolate and marshmallows. They had to barter with each other and the water spirit to get the items that they needed.
After lunch, the Otters completed the zipwire and the leap of faith and the Badgers completed the Burma bridge and the zipwire. We all came together for the egg drop where the children had to build a protective casing for an egg which they dropped off the balcony.
We have finished our day by having a disco! We also have zero waste again today! Just tomorrow's breakfast and we'll be on that wall!
Another fun day and celebrating of Freddy's birthday! The badgers started their day with the spider web activity (climbing through a net without touching the rope) followed by canoeing, archery and the leap of faith! The otters enjoyed a day of rock climbing, canoeing, the Burma bridge (a tip rope bridge across the river) and many challenges which showed their teamwork and communication skills.
Zero food waste again today! I think we might get our zero hero! We've also enjoyed a bit of birthday cake. We finished our day with a birthday party for Freddy where we played lots of games and won prizes and then finished with our hot chocolate!
We have competitions between the Badgers and Otters tomorrow. Let's see who have improved their communication skills to win the challenges. We are also looking forward to our zipwire!
The whole class would like to wish Khalid a happy birthday! We have taken many wonderful pictures of the children, I will blog them when we get back to school.
I'm afraid there are still problems with photo's but here is the latest update from Miss Andow
We have had another fun filled day! The badgers completed an assault course where they had to help children over obstacles. They had fun on the crate stack, climbing wall and making pizzas! The otters have done archery, with a few hitting the bullseye! They completed the low rope challenge, the night line where the children were blindfolded and had to rely on instructions and also made some pizzas!
Zero food waste again today! We're aiming to be a zero hero! We finished off the day together with a campfire and hot chocolate! I'm sure we'll have another fun filled day tomorrow!
Miss Andow is still unable to add photo’s to the blog but sent this message last night and I’m sure she will update again soon.
We have arrived safe and sound! We have been thrown straight into our activities. The badgers group have completed the low ropes, where they had to skillfully complete obstacles without touching the floor and the night line activity, this involved the children being blindfolded and following instructions to complete a course. The otters completed the assault course and Great Wall, the used fantastic team work skills to complete all of the obstacles together. We finished our activities with a talent show, where children showed their hidden talents (magic, singing, human pyramid)
The children have enjoyed the delicious food, and have had zero food waste! Let's hope that continues for the rest of the week to get our school name on the zero heroes! More fun to have tomorrow!!
