On Wednesday we learnt about Antoni Gaudi, the famous architect. We looked at houses that Gaudi had built in Barcelona and La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's most well known design, which still isn't finished! Gaudi didn't like straight lines, instead he used lots of curved lines, he knew that by curving his walls and structures this would make them stronger.
Flamingo challenge: can you balance a book on top of pieces of paper.
This is impossible was our first thought, but through lots of co-operation and problem solving Flamingos were able to build towers made out of many layers. There was an amazing atmosphere in our classroom as the children worked together, they were inspired and celebrated success with each other. More importantly it taught them to be resilience as they had to keeping trying even when their tower fell down. There were many examples of children learning from their mistakes and improving their ideas. You can see our excitement in our photos!
