The weather is getting warmer and summer will soon be here! Yesterday Flamingo Class planted seeds in our allotment outside our classroom. We have planted courgettes, sweetcorn and sunflowers, we are looking forward to seeing them grow. Also we have been planting sunflowers, courgettes and tomatoes in the Infant polytunnel, we hope to be able to share our crops soon!
Flamingo Class have been busy decorating an elephant ready to take part in the Enormous Elephant Trail. This year's theme is 'Memorable Moments', as elephants never forget! Each elephant celebrates a moment in history where an individual has followed their beliefs and passion to achieve something amazing. None of these people knew when they were young what they would grow up to be and how they would end up influencing world history and leave such a legacy for future generations.
Our elephant is called 'Winston' in honour of Winston Churchill. We have learnt about him and designed our elephant to include his hat and bow tie. Winston Churchill is most famous for leading Britain's fight against Nazi Germany using his skills as a talented speaker by giving stirring speeches to boost national morale. We have included some of his famous quotes on our elephant. Can you spot the London skyline as the planes fly through the sky?
I hope that many Flamingoes will be able to go hunting for our elephant and all the others over the Easter holidays. Please take pictures of the ones you find and send to: email@example.com
From Sat 8th April to Sun 23rd April there will be 40 wonderfully decorated elephants hiding in the shops in Broadmead and the Galleries waiting for you to discover them.
There are also a range of activities for families throughout the Easter holidays please go to www.faceboook.com/thearkbus
