We have been learning about Shakespeare's play 'The Tempest'. Prospero and Miranda were stranded on an island. We have been imagining what this island would have been like. We made an island of descriptive words, here are some photos of Flamingoes taking their partner on an imaginary journey around the island. We had to use lots of exciting vocabulary to describe what we we would see, hear and touch. Also Flamingoes drew some pictures of the island and added a key. Then we wrote a description of Prospero's journey as he discovered the island.
It has been another busy week in Flamingo Class. We began the week writing our Personal Best stories when we imagined what would happen to us if we lived in a Tin Forest. On Wednesday we had to find a new material for Alfie to use to mend his umbrella because he broke it. We had to test which materials were waterproof. Finally today we began Book Week when we are learning about William Shakespeare, we also ran around the school twice today as part of the Sport Relief Fun Run!
During Book Week we are learning about William Shakespeare. What can you find out about him?
