In Crow Class this term we have been lucky enough to have some special visitors from the University of Bristol Dental School.
We have had a fantastic time learning about how to care for our teeth and what might happen to them if we don't. We did some experiments using eggs, fruit, vinegar, coke and water, and observed the impact of what happens to the enamel if we eat and drink lots of sugary and acidic foods.
We also used special tablets to see how much plaque we had on our teeth after eating lunch. As you can see, we all had quite a bit of pink on our teeth (which means there is plaque on the surface). We then brushed our teeth carefully until all the pink was removed - this meant that all of the plaque was also gone!
This term we have been learning about traditional favles from around the world.
Our main class text is Chicken Licken.
We have been working hard to learn the text so that we are able to create similar stories of our own using the same structure.
One group's retelling of the story after just one lesson!
