What a week! Here's a rundown of what the children got up to in Y3 this week!
Monday: Sketching animals from how2drawanimals.com/ The children chose 3 of their favourite animals and following the excellent step by step guidance on this website, drew some fantastic animals!
Tuesday: The children made sun-catchers with Mrs Baxter using leaves and bits of plants from around the grounds with a very cool stain-glass effect
Wednesday: Ashton Vale's Got talent took up most of the morning and then they children painted some lovely African sunset silhouette watercolour paintings with Mr Jawad in the afternoon
Thursday: The children made 2 scarecrows under the expert eye of Mr Wilson using up some of the lost property clothes in the process! They also painted the allotment beds and the signs.
Friday: The children drew their own birds to put on our 3D Arts Week tree and designed a Super Mario level on the Ipad App Floors.
Have a look below for some pictures of what we got up to!
Miss Walker taught Crow Class about the Roman army today: how they organised themselves, trained and why they were the most successful army of their time.
We re-enacted a battle between the disorganised Barbarians and the extremely organised Romans. Have a look at our pictures and listen to some of the commentaries we recorded to explain what happened!
Hannah did such a good job retelling the Easter story in our Spring assembly, I thought it would be nice for everyone to have another chance to see it again. A massive thanks to Miss Reeves and Miss Taylor who helped Hannah learn the story complete with Makaton actions! Well done Hannah!!
Miss Gibbs and Mrs Bennett were very busy on Thursday afternoon helping Crow Class plant lots of things in our part of the allotment.
Some of the class got to plant potatoes, beetroot, carrots and leeks. They helped plant the seeds, water them and tidy up a lot as well. We will need to keep watering them every day to help them grow. Also- around the school you might see bean seedlings growing in strange places. We are investigating what plants need to grow and what happens to them if they don't get everything they need!
