Children's reading books will be given out on Mondays and collected in on Fridays. This is to allow time to give books the 72 hours they need in a quarantine period before they go into another home.
We would still like to encourage reading to happen at home at the weekends, so please find ebooks online by following the steps below.

Can you practice putting your sleeves back around the correct way?
Can you practice taking your coat off without your sleeves going inside out? Can you practice putting your coat on by yourself? Putting your hood on first to then find your arm holes is how we learn at school :) Can you find the tab in your coat that needs to be used to hang your coat on your peg? Your home learning this week is to practice putting on and taking off your own shoes! Who will be the first one ready to splash in puddles with their welly boots on at school? Who can remember to put their shoes and wellies together neatly when they have taken them off? Try this trick- If your child is struggling to know which shoe goes on which foot then try cutting a sticker in half and sticking it in the shoe like the picture above. It can be any shape sticker as long as they are placed in the shoe as above :) Dear Parents/Carers,
What a great week! Well done to all our new penguins, we are really impressed with the way you have come into school this week, you have all explored and enjoyed your new classroom and made new friends, fantastic! Just a reminder to please remember to put water only in bottles as we work in partnership with Bristol Healthy Schools-www.bristolhealthyschools.org.uk/topic-areas/#food-and-nutrition and promote healthy choices. We look forward to seeing you all next week, have a great weekend. All children attending on Friday did brilliantly. They all enjoyed exploring the classroom, getting used to routines of school and making new friends. We now look forward to a full week ahead of half days. The red gate will open for you to enter for the beginning and end of your child's session, please remember to queue as per the lines on the floor. Please remember to bring the following things with you every day. - full, named water bottle - book bag (for any letters and to get used to this routine from the beginning :) - named coat (even in the sunshine!) - as the sun will be out this week remember to apply 'once a day' suncream before you come to school too If you still haven't brought your change of clothes (including pants), wellies and waterproof trousers to leave in school, try to remember these too :) There is no homework as such for the new children, however keeping, or creating, the habit of reading everyday will help your child do well at school. At this early stage the children will probably enjoy being read to and bedtime can be a great time for this or perhaps another time may suit you :) Follow the link and watch the clip below for ideas. www.booktrust.org.uk/globalassets/resources/bath-book-bed/bath-book-bed-booklet-2020-optimised.pdf This is our last week of reception I have, and will, miss you all! I hope to see you this afternoon (Monday 13th) on the school field with your cupcake and drink (15:30-16:00). Enjoy your summer break :)
