This term in D.T with Mrs Mullaney we have been making fairgrounds with different materials, here are some of the equipment: straws, masking tape and lollipop sticks.
First we drew our ideas on paper, then we tried to make a rectangle and a triangle out of straws and masking tape. We did this to get the structure of our designs.
Before we began making our rides Mrs Mullaney showed us some examples to give us ideas for our creations.
After that we got into partners and started to create our fairground designs. Some of us used the triangles to create the start of our rides. We all based our structures on popular rides such as; merry go rounds, Ferris wheel, teacups and simulators.
Next week in D.T,
We will be adding motors to make them spin like a real life ride would. Some people may be decorating theirs to make it pretty before they put it all together into a ride, because it would be difficult to colour/paint when it’s built.
Hopefully by the end of term we will have successfully finished these projects, ready to start S.A.Ts after Easter.
We have all enjoyed having Mrs Mullaney to help us and we have enjoyed every minute making these.
Here are some pictures of the unfinished creations.
